Rosemary Conley CBE, who has more than 40 years’ experience helping people lose weight, and Twinings are backing Meningitis UK and Meningitis Trust’s annual Time 4 Tea campaign.
Time 4 Tea asks people to gather family and friends, stick on a brew and create a cake or two, to help the national charity fight meningitis on all fronts.
The award-winning TV presenter, writer and fitness DVD star has put forward her lovely low-calorie Blueberry Meringue Cake recipe to entice everyone to get creative in the kitchen.
Twinings is offering participants free tea samples to help with their events, and a lavish tea-set hamper to one lucky person who most creatively photographs a Time 4 Tea.
People can host a variety of events, from tea dances and coffee mornings, to teddy bears’ picnics and cake-baking competitions.
Rosemary, who launched Rosemary Conley Diet and Fitness Clubs to help those following her health plans, is thrilled to support Time 4 Tea.
She said: “As an avid tea drinker – I am absolutely delighted to back the charity’s Time 4 Tea campaign.
“It’s a fantastic way to unite people, enjoy a tasty tea and cake – hopefully low fat – while fighting a disease that can kill in hours or leave people with life-changing after-effects such as limb loss.

Speaking about her recipe, Rosemary, who received a CBE for her services to the fitness and diet industries, added: “My Blueberry Meringue Cake is a tasty, low-fat treat, which looks magnificent, but is extremely easy to make.
“People can get creative and really try any fruit, but one thing is guaranteed, the taste of the fruit will stand out and the meringue is extremely light and gorgeous.”
A party pack featuring Rosemary’s recipe and Twinings’ tea, along with colourful balloons, bunting, posters, invitations and a collection box, will be sent to anyone who registers to hold a Time 4 Tea.

Money raised will help Meningitis UK and Meningitis Trust fight the disease on all fronts – funding pioneering vaccine and preventative research, and supporting those with life-changing after-effects such as limb loss.
The two charities merged in April 2013 to form the UK’s biggest meningitis charity.
The new charity also delivers a comprehensive awareness campaign, with free symptoms information packs, experts and other informative materials readily available to all.

1 pack Bird’s Dream Topping
2 egg whites
90g caster sugar
100ml skimmed milk
1) Preheat the oven to 150°C, 300°F, Gas Mark 2. Make up the Dream Topping as per the instructions and place in the refrigerator to thicken.
2) In a clean bowl, whisk the egg whites with an electric whisk until firm. Then continue to whisk, adding the sugar a tablespoonful at a time, at 10-second intervals.
3) Line 2 baking trays with parchment paper. Spread the mixture onto the paper in 3 even circles. Bake in the oven for 45 minutes, until firm to the touch. Remove and allow to cool. Sandwich the meringues together using the Dream Topping and adding a few blueberries to each layer. Serve.
