Rosemary Conley has welcomed in 2014 with a bang, by unveiling an exciting new image and direction for the entire brand!

Mother of two sheds over half her body weight to become Yummy Mummy Slimmer of the Year 2013.

Weighing a massive 22st 3lb, 28-year old Laura Mack from Tamworth, Staffordshire thought she would never be a mummy, let alone a yummy mummy, but after shedding over half her body weight – 11st 2lb – she now weighs 11st 1lb and has scooped the Rosemary Conley Diet & Fitness Magazine Yummy Mummy Slimmer of the Year 2013 Award.

Mother-of-two Laura, whose dress size has dropped from a size 26/28 to a slimline size 12, is now featured in the February issue of Rosemary Conley Diet & Fitness magazine, on sale now and on Rosemary’s free internet TV channel, www.rosemaryconley.tv.

Laura is one of twelve Slimmers of the Year 2013 who have lost a staggering 102 stone between them. Laura received her award – along with £1,000 cash – from Rosemary Conley, CBE, at a glittering ceremony held at the London Marriott County Hall Hotel on Thursday 3rd January.

Laura is now the mother of two beautiful boys, aged 3 and 2 years, but for years, suffering from polycystic ovaries and endometriosis, and being told by the doctor at the fertility clinic that it was her own fault she couldn’t get pregnant because she was so fat, it looked like she would never complete her family.

Laura had been on the big side even at school and after moving in with her boyfriend, Kevin, prior to their wedding in 2004, their diet of fatty fast foods and takeways pushed her weight up further. Laura was struggling to conceive and was told that due to damage to her womb, she wasn’t ovulating and even if she did get pregnant, she might not be able to carry to full term.

Rosemary Conley class finderFinding out that she needed to lose weight before she could even begin fertility treatment, Laura joined her local Rosemary Conley Diet & Fitness Club in September 2007. In the first five months she lost 4st 7lb and at the same time she received the go-ahead for the IVF treatment. But, before the treatment began, in March 2008, she conceived naturally. Sadly, during a routine 16-week scan, Laura received the news that the baby had no heartbeat. “I was devastated and thought my life had ended. I was in the worst place in the world and couldn’t see any future. I shut myself off from the world, and I ate,” says Laura.

After a couple of months, with the encouragement of her instructor, Nicky, Laura went back to the Rosemary Conley class and succeeded in losing 2 stone before getting became pregnant again. Her son Lewis was born in June 2009, after six years of trying, and, even though she suffered a damaged pelvis whilst giving birth, Laura was naturally delighted. “He was my miracle baby and Kevin and I were overjoyed,” says Laura who went back to the Rosemary Conley class when Lewis was ten weeks old and managed to lose 2st 8lb before finding out she was expecting again.

Joseph was born in January 2010 but it was another complicated pregnancy and severe pelvic pain left Laura immobile. Whilst exercise became out of the question, Laura turned to comfort-eating and stayed at home, virtually a recluse, with her two young sons. “I’d eat a packet of biscuits in one go, or a whole cake. Sometimes I couldn’t even get dressed and eventually I stopped going out altogether.”

Laura felt she was letting her children down, especially her oldest son, Lewis, who wasn’t getting any interaction with other children his own age. So, when he pleaded, “Mummy, can we please go outside,” Laura was heartbroken. “It made me realise I had to get a grip,” says Laura.

Laura rejoined the Rosemary Conley Club in June 2011 and lost over a stone each month. By January 2012 she was already 9st lighter and by March, the day before her 28th birthday, she had lost a phenomenal 11st. After losing a further 2lb, Laura now weighs just 11st 1lb and has gone from being a housebound recluse to someone who is always out and about with her children. “My boys certainly aren’t bored anymore. My only concern now is if they can keep up with me,” adds Laura.
