“From that day on, I moved on to my Personal FAB plan where I get to choose all my own main meals, Power Snacks, low-fat treats and high-fat treats!.”

The unthinkable has happened. After straight weeks of losses and two stay the sames, I GAINED 1lb 4oz! I was completely devastated. I had tarnished my perfect track record.

With a heavy heart, I took out my Magic Measure® and started measuring away. But all was not lost. When I entered all my measurements online, I had still managed to lose 3in! I called my sister Rachel and she said from now on I would have to be 100% good, that I was only cheating myself and that the weight gain could be due to fluid retention from my monthly cycle.

I was always regular as clockwork on a 30-day cycle but since having Leo, it’s a 37-day cycle. Around the 16th day of my cycle, I feel ravenous and bloated. I also feel quite low and moody. This lasts for about five days and it did coincide with my weigh-in. I don’t want to make excuses but I did feel heavier. The scales just confirmed it.

So from that day on, I moved on to my Personal FAB plan where I get to choose all my own main meals, Power Snacks, low-fat treats and high-fat treats! Up until now, I had tended to eat my way through the day and then add the food into my diary after I had eaten it. My sugar and salt levels were really high, so this had to change. I started entering in my day’s food the night before and then once I’d eaten it, I added the time I ate it. This is really working for me. Click here to find out more about the Facial Flex Ultra® from Rosemary ConleyI am also doing 30-45 minutes of Wii Fit every other day and walking more. It has all paid off. I have found that in my life of chaos, it’s great to be in complete control of my food plan. I haven’t strayed at all and I’ve stuck to my chosen food rigidly, every day. When I weighed myself this week, it was a different story. I’d lost 2lb 4oz and I am now 8lb 4oz away from my first goal of 10st 7lb. Plus, I am almost the same weight as my slinky sister! This has not happened since the last man walked on the moon (that’s not strictly true, but it has been a long time). I am the lightest I have ever been, since my 20s probably.

My new favourite thing is the Facial Flex® from Rosemary Conley. Every night and morning, I am flexing the muscles in my face for a count of 120. It makes your muscles ache but I honestly feel it’s lifting my sagging jawline. In the first trimester of my second pregnancy I suffered with Bell’s palsy for about four weeks and the right side of my face dropped. It did return, but it’s not quite the same and the Facial Flex® has helped even out my face. I highly recommend one. WARNING: You don’t look very sexy while you’re using it!

“The flights both ways were HARD work on my own. Thankfully, I had lots of help and support from the air stewards and other passengers”

It’s a few weeks since I wrote my last blog. But I am now back and back on track. Let me tell you the reason why I disappeared.

Rachel and I have a little sister in Australia and a horrible tragedy occured on 30 May. She was 38 weeks pregnant and had just been for a sizing scan, when she had a minor car accident. Her huge tummy took the full force of the steering wheel and, sadly, she did not receive the correct care and attention she should have had at the hospital where she’d be taken in Perth, Australia. This resulted in her placenta rupturing and her gorgeous son Alfie Victor Smith was stillborn weighing 7lb 9oz.

My two boys and myself flew the long journey to Perth and attended Alfie’s funeral and tried to do our best to ease their pain and suffering. My sister has another son who’s a few weeks younger than my eldest, so they amused each other.

It was not all sad. We had a lovely mini holiday to the coast. It’s the winter over there, so we saw quite a bit of rain but also saw some amazing sun rises and rainbows. My sister’s husband rented bikes and we all went cycling along the coast. My boys Ethan and Leo absolutely loved it.

During all this time, my Rosemary plan went out the window. My brother-in-law’s mum made us delicious home-cooked food, such as roast pork with all the trimmings and home-made puddings. It would have been rude to say no...

Plus, after not drinking any alcohol since forever, I sampled quite a few local wines and loved them.

The flights both ways were HARD work on my own. Thankfully, I had lots of help and support from the air stewards and other passengers. One gent kept bringing me chocolate bars saying, ‘I think you need this!’ All the way home, my trousers (now size 12!) felt tighter and I felt so sluggish and lethargic. I literally ate four Toblerone bars on the last 13½ hours of the flight to relieve my stress of non-sleeping children. At one point I had both of them on my lap, simultaneously crying and Ethan almost vomiting!

It has been a tough few weeks in many ways but I was so happy to be there for Amy and her family. She kept teasing me, saying I would be moaning about her in my blog and all the food and drink she made me have. But she did not force-feed me, I fed myself. It was fun but I was so happy to get home and get my food back on track.

It was so weird to not record all the food I was eating in my diary or plan menus. When I got home in the late afternoon, hubby Alex had arranged for my weekly shopping delivery at 6pm. It was full of salad, veggies and protein. NO CHOCOLATE, CAKES or WINE . Home sweet home.

Wednesday was weigh-in day and I was half-tempted not to weigh, fearing the worst. I swallowed my pride and jumped on the scales. I had gained...1lb. 1lb! How was that even possible? I felt like I had gained 7lb! I’d also gained 1½in.

So this week, I have tried my hardest to get back on track, knowing that all those chocolate bars could catch up with me! I have done some yoga and dusted off my Rosemary DVD. I spent 30 minutes in my living room getting hot and sweaty! Hence to say, I haven’t been able to move quite the same for the last three days!

So, a week later and I have good news - I’ve lost 1lb 10oz! That now makes a total of 2st 5lb and 14oz. I am only 6lb from goal and I know now it’s going to probably be the hardest 6lb ever, but I am ready for the challenge.

Alex also lost 2lb 10oz, bringing him back to a total of 31lb lost and me 34lb. I have also lost 44in all over and when I held up my Magic Measure® today, it’s quite moving to see exactly how much that is. I feel fabulous and don’t look too bad at last!
