Ballet

Ballet works to strengthen our core, balance and posture using very controlled and graceful movement. While most of us will never be able to balance on our pointed toes, learning some simple moves can strengthen our core, arms and legs. It’s also very calming and relaxing.

Ballet – Level 1 Elementary

Ballet teacher Rosie Cambridge demonstrates an elementary ballet session. Always work at the level appropriate to you and keep a chair (or stand near a table or worktop) for support when necessary. Wear shoes if necessary.

Ballet – Level 2 Intermediate

This intermediate ballet workout will very effectively strengthen your core, legs and posture. Work on a firm surface and have a dining chair or similar close by for support as necessary. Only work at the level that is appropriate for you.

Ballet – Level 3 Advanced

This more advanced level lesson will seriously challenge your ability to balance so be sure to have a chair or similar to hold on to if necessary. If you find this too challenging, keep practising with Level 1 and 2.

Like Ballet, Pilates aims to strengthen the body in an even way, with particular emphasis on core strength to improve general fitness and wellbeing.
